Take 8 slices of bread and cut them into small, bite-sized cubes.
Finely chop 1 medium onion and add it to a large mixing bowl with the bread cubes.
Finely chop 2 green chilies and add them to the bowl.
Mince 5 garlic cloves and add them to the bowl.
Mince 1 inch of ginger and add it to the bowl.
Chop 0.25 cup of fresh coriander leaves and add them to the bowl.
Add 10 curry leaves to the mixture in the bowl.
Sprinkle 1.5 teaspoons of red chili powder and 1 teaspoon of salt over the ingredients.
Add 0.25 cup of water to the bowl.
Wearing gloves, thoroughly mix all the ingredients by hand until a cohesive, dough-like mixture is formed.
Heat 2 cups of cooking oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, form small balls or irregular shapes from the bread mixture and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
Deep fry the pakoras until they are golden brown and crispy, turning them occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Remove the fried pakoras from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve the hot bread pakoras immediately with tomato ketchup.
